Annual Youth Hunt:

This year's youth hunt was held at Rocky Bay Kennel and Hunt Club in Pine City on Saturday October 8th.   Thirty-four area "ring-necks" had the opportunity to experience pheasant hunting.   The event included field training, clay target shooting, guides with dogs, pheasants for the hunt, lunch and a ringneck membership.  The cost was only $20.

Participants must be between 12 and 15, successfully completed hunter safety and have their parents permission.  Due to overwhelming interest the last few years, we will limit the number of participants to 50 participants.

College Scholarships:  Each year Chisago County Chapter has contributed $2,500 in scholarships to Chisago Lakes High School, North Branch High School and Rush City High School students pursuing degrees in a conservation science. Thanks to Tom Hallberg, through Edward Jones Investments, our scholarship fund is growing and will enable us to continue awarding scholarships in the future.

Youth Bird Camp and L.E.P. Scholarships:   This year, as in the past, the chapter contributed scholarship funds to the Youth Bird Camp in Portage, MN, and to the Leopold Education Project.   The chapter contributed $1,600 to the Youth Bird Camp program and the Leopold Education Project.  Both programs are aimed at improving Habitat awareness.
